  • Clothing Donations

Your gently used and no longer needed clothing is a welcome gift to those struggling with self-sufficiency in our community. Donations can be dropped off in the Fellowship Hall during Clothing Ministry hour.

Opportunities For Service

  • Acolytes 

All 5th-7th graders are encouraged to join our acolyte team. Contact the Pastor.

  • Altar Guild 

Looking for a way to get more involved in the life of our church, but are limited on time? Consider serving on the Altar Guild! Volunteers help out before the 10:30 am service, volunteer commitments are flexible. Preparing the sanctuary for worship is a meaningful way to contribute your time and talents to the UMC of Spring Valley.

Please consider donating altar flowers in honor or memory of a loved one or event. The sign up sheet is in the church's office.

  • Greeters 

Join in a ministry of hospitality by greeting everyone as they enter the sanctuary before Sunday Worship.

  • Saturday Breakfast Hosts

Join our dedicated group of volunteers who choose to serve others with respect and compassion. We are always looking for volunteers in our Saturday breakfast. 

  • Food Pantry Helpers

Become a valued volunteer and help us change the lives of our neighbors in need. We are always looking for volunteers in our Food Pantry Ministry. Many thanks in anticipation of your help. ​​

Church Happenings


  • Choir Rehearsal

Our choir team meets every Sunday at 9:30 am to learn repertoire, to prepare for performance, to work as a team, to develop singing skills- all for the glory of God.

  • Adult Sunday School

9:30 am- This is a time of fellowship where we come together to have a healthy open dialogue that addresses "wondering" questions about faith and God in a compassionate environment, using the Bible as our source to find the truth. It’s all about sharing experiences openly and embracing doubts and questions. As we seek to understand others through active listening, we trust the Holy Spirit to guide us all the way.

  • Children youth Service

Youth of the congregation led worship services every 5th Sunday at 10:30 am. Well in advance, they plan the entire service with their youth coordinator, youth advisor, worship leader, and/or with pastor. Themes of the service vary from year to year.


  • Bible Study

Our Tuesday Bible Study is at 7:00 pm. It is is a time of fellowship where we come together to  encourage each other to develop his/her intimate relationship with Jesus through studying God’s word and engaging in fellowship with others in Christ.


  • Prayer Line

7:00 pm to 7:30 pm - This is an active prayer line ministry with many people in our church who have made a commitment to pray for anyone needing or requesting prayer. Read more


  • Prayer Meeting

We are an active group of caregivers who meets every Saturday at 11:00 am for prayer meeting at the church to lift up the joys and concerns of the church, the community and the world. 


  • UMCSV Youth Group

7:00 pm to 9:30 where our students learn about God’s love for them through relevant conversations and fun activities.Read more about The United Methodist Church Youth Group!



  • Community Breakfast

For many years, we have been able to provide a free breakfast to anyone in the community every Saturday morning from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. We are always in need of faithful servants to give us a hand.  

  • Clothing Ministry

Our Clothing Shop Ministry is at 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Saturdays as we demonstrate Christ’s love, in a practical way, by providing free clothing and shoes to those in need in our community. Want to donate? Click here.

  • Food Pantry

Every other Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, we have been able to extend our reach by serving hundreds of hungry and disadvantages people in the Spring Valley community.


  • Dinner Church

6:00 pm to 8:00 pm



  • Prayer Visitation

We are an active group of caregivers who are also actively involved in visitation ministry every 4th Saturday to fulfill prayer requests whether at home, nursing homes, hospitals, etc.

  • Vacation Bible School

​​Our Vacation Bible School is open to any child from Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade regardless of church background. This five-day program provides Bible lessons, crafts, music, recreation, and snacks using well-developed curriculum that changes each year.
