and by living out Jesus' command to love God and neighbor

Safe &Secure

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”  Matthew 25:35-36

Connectional Mission

We support our local and worldwide community because we believe that Connectional Mission is an essential part of our faith and, therefore, among the most important activities at The United Methodist Church of Spring Valley. John Wesley believed that Christians could not have authentic personal holiness without social holiness. He said, “I look upon all the world as my parish” and “do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the souls you can, in every place you can, at all the times you can, with all the zeal you can, as long as ever you can.”

John Wesley not only preached about works of mercy, he “practiced” what he preached. For example, he lived modestly and gave all he could to people who were poor; visited people in prison and provided spiritual guidance, food and clothing to them; spoke out against slavery and forbade it in Methodism; founded schools; published books, pamphlets and magazines for the education and spiritual edification of people; taught and wrote about good health and even dispensed medicines from his chapels. The members of The United Methodist Church of Spring Valley work to carry on the tradition of John Wesley through gifts of their time, talents and finances to support many local, state, national and international missions.  To find out more about the ministries we serve and ways to help, click the following links:
