Our worship is an expression of our joy in praising and serving the Lord. In that, worship meets a vital need in our lives; it celebrates and nurtures our relationship with God. Our worship is lively and invites the Holy Spirit's presence among us. We worship to experience the presence of God and to be reminded of God’s love. But how we choose to meet God, to have that intimate conversation, can be as different as each person who walks through the church’s door. At the United Methodist Church of Spring Valley, our worship service each Sunday is to help each one of us to have that personal encounter with God’s presence, so we can be renewed by the experience.

When We Meet

  • 10:30 a.m.

Where We Meet

  • We meet at 2 South Madison Avenue, Spring Valley, New York 10977. Here are the directions.

Where To Park

  • First and foremost, parking is prohibited across the Fire Department. There are parking lots on South Madison Avenue. Additional parking can be found at Finkelstein Memorial Library.

What To Expect

  • Everyone is welcome in our journey of loving God and pursuing what He has for us. A typical Sunday service lasts a little more than an hour. Our services consist of a time of worship and Biblically-sound, relatable teachings, as well as an opportunity to receive ministry and prayer. When you join us, feel free to come just as you are. You can expect a welcoming environment and a worship service that displays both reverence and relevance. We follow a basic liturgy that can be traced back to the early Church: prayer, Scripture reading, songs of praise, and a sermon from God’s Word demonstrating how the Bible applies to our lives. We also regularly practice communion and baptism as new followers of Christ are added to the church.

What To Do Next

  • Following each service, guests are invited to join us for a fellowship hour downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. Felloship hour is an environment created for you—a place to ask questions, get to know our church family, our pastor, and to learn what The United methodist Church of Spring Valley is all about. We pray that during your fellowship hour, you’ll feel informed, valued and invited into what God’s doing at UMC of Spring Valley.

The Sacraments

Spring Valley

We are a people proclaiming the good news of God's grace

and by living out Jesus' command to love God and neighbor

Safe &Secure

Baptism is one of the two Sacraments of God’s grace that we celebrate as United Methodists. Baptism is the open door through which we enter into the church with all of its benefits and responsibilities.

Through baptism we discover:

  • Who we are – Our true identity in Jesus Christ
  • Whose we are – To whom we belong, we are children of God who are called into God’s family.
  • Why we are here – Our purpose for being; called to make a ‘healing’ difference in this world with Christ’s love. Through baptism we are welcomed, claimed, and commissioned by God.

As United Methodists we believe in open communion. This means that all who believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ are invited to partake in the sacrament.  All are welcome at the Lord's Table at our church. Communion is a family meal, and all Christians are members of Christ's family.

*Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month at our Sunday service.
